Will There Be A Super Bloom?

Weather-wise it's been a crazy start to 2019 in Southern California - certainly the worst we've seen in eighteen years of living here.  Storm after storm has battered the West Coast, and temperatures have been on the really chilly side!  Thus, we were extremely happy to find that our first teardrop camping trip of the year to Anza Borrego State Park coincided with a couple of beautiful sunny days. 2017 Lake Perris Teardrop Gathering

Great fun was had by all at the 2017 Lake Perris Teardrop Gathering. Just under one hundred teardrop campers turned up and we were greeted with thousands of acres of yellow flowers surround the lake.

San Clemente State Beach campground sits high on the bluff, back some distance from the ocean. From the majority of the camping spots, including ours, you cannot see the sea, but you can smell the salt in the air.  The campground is not that pretty, functional would be the more appropriate description.

Our second trip to the Paso Picacho campground in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park certainly proved to be warmer than the first.  Spring was finally here, and the sun was shining.
